Yes it's been challenging, but 69% of the population still think the Government have handled the Covid situation badly...which is broadly similar across party lines: fewer than 40% of Conservatives think they have done well.
This isn't about whether others would have done better (or worse). No one expects perfection in this type of situation. It's about avoidable mistakes and deliberate decisions, then lying and obfuscating afterwards. It's about a lack transparency and honesty that builds trust and reassurance even when times are hard.
