Humanity is finished if it fails to adapt after Covid-19

So says Dame Jane Morris Goodall, one of the world's leading primatologists and anthropologists. Particularly if we fail to drastically change our food systems in response to the coronavirus pandemic and the climate crisis. Because they are all interlinked.

There is a strong case to made that climate change and its environmental impact was a major contributor to the Covid-19 outbreak...and the rise in other infectious diseases. Over-exploitation of natural resources has created a negative cascade: deforestation, habitat destruction and species extinction. This in turn has forced wild animals into closer proximity with humans. Add to that factory farming that intensifies animal diseases and breeds antibiotic resistant superbugs, and you up the chance for negative spill over into humans - what seems to have happened in the case of C-19.
