It's time to renew normal
Social policy think-tank Demos has established a people's commission on life after Covid. Headed by commissioners from a range of backgrounds, including Martin Lewis of Money Saving Expert, Demos want Renew Normal to be a national conversation on how the UK could and should be in a post-Covid world: so not just new as in different but renew as in better.
As a first step, they are looking to collect stories from around the country on life during lockdown, the challenges faced and positive experiences had, alongside hopes and fears for the future. You can take part here.

“we can't return to normal, because the normal that we had was precisely the problem”
So as we look to the future, we can either drift into this and accept what happens, taking what we're given by the Government and others...for good or ill. Or we can can seize the initiative, let our voices be heard and set the agenda at what is a once in a lifetime moment: a Year Zero that presents an opportunity to truly change the way things are for the better of everyone, not just the benefit of the few...as was the case with the old normal.
It is very much a case of speak now or forever hold your peace.
