U-turns in politics should be seen as a good thing

Clearly this should have never happened in the first place. Particularly as it came hot on the heels of Priti Patel putting the boot in on Monday. And the weasely ducking and diving up to this point was not a good look no matter how hard you squint. But change for the better has to be a good thing. And wouldn't the world be better generally if politicians were allowed to admit mistakes and make u-turns without these being seen as political suicide notes. Even if probably grudgingly in this case.
