What leadership under challenging conditions doesn't look like

Leadership requires credibility, consistency, empathy and trust if you want people to follow.

So when Government science adviser Prof Neil Ferguson broke lockdown rules and resigned top, Tory MPs were 'speechless' (Matt Hancock) over his behaviour but said he'd done the right thing in stepping down in response to his failure of leadership.

Now we have Dominic Cummings, Boris Johnson's no.1 adviser, breaking the rules in a much more significant way - travelling over 250 miles across the country with Covid symptoms - and we should expect the same yes?

Well apparently not. Complete radio silence from him, Boris and the Government.

One rule for them, another rule for the rest of us it seems - do as I say not as I do is bad leadership.
